Fear

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. – Matthew 10:28-31

We do not yet know who was behind the bombing in Boston yesterday. Maybe it was a lone nut–we certainly have enough of a history of those in this country–or maybe a domestic or foreign terrorist. Obviously we all want whoever was behind this to be caught and brought to justice. Nobody should be out for a fun afternoon and have a bomb blow up right next to them.

Whoever is ultimately found to be behind this, my reaction will be the same. To keep on living my life. Aside from the statistical reality that you’re more likely to be injured or killed in an auto accident than a terrorist attack, the whole point of a terror attack is to create fear and terror. To get people to change the way they live. This country changed far too much and in all the wrong ways after 9/11; we gave up some of our freedom and our privacy because we were scared. Please do not let this happen again. I would rather live with some level of risk than to give up liberty to feel secure.

Live your life. Don’t change anything. Just live.
