I think it speaks to the broader frustration that I have with much of the pro-life movement, and that is the apparent lack of concern that so many people show once a child is born. I think that as part of a broader pro-life ethic, we need to be working to make sure that when we tell someone that they should choose life, we’re creating a world where that life is valued. That means protecting the civil rights of others, that means helping those children who were born into poverty, it means treating each and every person as someone with dignity. We can’t just say, “Oops, sorry, now that you’re born you’re on you’re own.”
